On Friday 6th July 2012 pupils will be going outside to learn. The Empty Classroom Day is a project created by a collection of organisations who met at London Sustainable Schools Forum (LSSF) and all support learning outside, school grounds and growing. The day was developed to help schools benefit from outdoor learning and share their best practice with other schools. Many LEEF many LEEF members are involved signing up schools they work with and developing an offer for the day in their organisation.

Schools are signing up to support for outdoor learning and to show that one class will be learning outside for one lesson on Friday 6th July 2012.

My organisation supports this idea, how do we get involved?

OFFER FOR SCHOOLS – On the webpage there will be offers from organisations supporting the Empty Classroom Day with their logo and a link E.gā€ FACE has cut out farm animals for young children to make a farm in their playground.ā€ Decide on what your organisation can offer schools on the day maybe it could be your activity pack with playground lesson plans, or activity at your site for visiting schools on the day. It is totally up to your organisation, as long as it involves learning outside it will be fantastic. As the aim of the day is to promote Learning Outside the Classroom to schools.
