National Sustainable Schools Conference 2011 – Let’s get creative!

Find out how a school reduced their electricity consumption by 80%!! Discover the latest research and leadership for sustainable schools.
Save money and resources, encourage more motivated students, lead to improved outcomes and prepare them better for their futures.
Please join us and other teachers when June sees the biggest Sustainable Schools annual conference coming to a location near you and online!
It is for educators like you to learn and share resources, skills, successes and make plans to become a more sustainable school. “Lots of excellent resources on huge variety of topics, great facts from presentations and lots of new information.” Philippa, 2010 Participant

You and your students understand that we must live and think more sustainably, and that schools play a vital role in this. A recent survey of students say they want to learn more at school so SEEd are bringing together inspiring national speakers who have just ‘done it’, often without lots of money or support; many of these are teachers just like you!

Join in at one of 4 locations around the country, all connected online! It’s a truly national approach to help you and your schools in your sustainability journey using exciting new creative ideas!

Aldershot 9 June, Bricks and Bread Sustainable Living Centre – lots of demonstrations
London 13 June, ZSL London Zoo Education Centre – includes visit to Zoo!
Manchester 30 June, MERCi Manchester Environmental Resource Centre initiative – a whole sustainable building
Northampton 5 July, Learning and Discovery Centre, Delapre Learning Centre – a new community getting started

All conference delegates also have automatic access to the online arena and everyone receives the collated resources e-pack after the online conference ends. A valuable resource for you and your school.

This year the theme is Let’s get Creative with workshops led by experts in their fields covering:

Creative engagement with students
Creative use of the outdoors and museums
Creative Curriculum
Creative with Funding, and,
Creatively engaging with your community

The conference also includes a market place of organisations and resources that support sustainable schools and local authorities.

If you cannot make one of these dates then join in our Online Interactive Conference. Take part in facilitated workshops, discussions, listen to key note speakers and get the workshop outputs and presentations from our country–wide events. All this without traveling anywhere!

Costs: Events, £150 early bird (up to May 27th), £175 thereafter (reduced rates for SEEd members and multiple attendances from a school); online conference only – £75
