How are we managed?
LEEF is an independent charitable incorporated organisation (registered charity: 1168740). As a membership organisation we have a wealth of environmental education experience including information on practitioners, facilities and resources all geared up for the capital’s educators. We are managed by our Board of Trustees who are all experienced environmental educators with a passion for the sector. Our Trustees are assisted by representatives from the leading environmental education organisations in London who volunteer their time to run the network. Our constitution and our annual reports are available here
How do we network?
Members share information, tips, contacts, inspiration, encouragement, opportunities and good cheer online (at the moment). Usually the face-to-face events are where LEEF's networks of relationships live and breathe and work their magic, but right now they aren't possible so LEEF is limited to the online sphere. We run online training sessions and hope to recreate some of the same vibe. The beauty of LEEF is that educators relate to each other irrespective of job, experience or skill. Many have worked in Environmental Education for many years, others are students and beginners, but we all bring our perspectives and learn from each other. This rich mix has made LEEF an incredibly valuable network for many educators over its 30 years. Our current membership is approximately 350 people, with about 10 'large organisations' in London. LEEF events are open to anyone interested in environmental education in Greater London. Members receive a discount for training. To find out more about LEEF, join our mailing list here, or our facebook page here, or follow us on Twitter or on Instagram
